How Good Soil Nursery Came To Be

It all started when I was young. A few people influenced my journey into horticulture my aunt, and both sets of my grandparents. My aunt worked at a plant nursery taking me there from time to time, and provided me with perennial plants from her own garden when I had a book project to do in second grade I still have that little book.

One set of my grandparents who lived on what was left of the old farm grew vegetables mainly corn, tomatoes, and cucumbers which I remember watering and picking, and just enjoying those cool cucumbers on a hot summers day. My brothers and I would sneak out and explore the woods which were covered in moss, and hay scented fern or hop over the old stone wall into Joe Hanics field which was full of wildflowers, and tall grasses and we would proceed to shake him down for some cookies. My other grandparents grew flowers there were lillies, and roses everywhere, and my feet would always find a rose thorn, and made me despise roses for the longest time because of it.

2008 I was enlisted in the army and getting ready to deploy. After that deployment I found gardening again although I assume gardening never left me it helped me relax, and I just loved seeing what I could create with plants, and all the different wildlife always showed up. My third deployment I was wondering what I really wanted to do, and on that deployment in Afghanistan, Good Soil Nursery was born, and begin to take shape. Good Soil Nursery is now a reality where we specialize in growing elatum delphiniums, but also growing other perennials.

I hope you enjoy our plants, and watching them grow with you.
